The Hi-Pro story began in 1968 when we planted our first mill in Friona, Texas. In 1972, we became known as Hi-Pro Feeds™ and established ourselves as a brand synonymous with the South Central US cattle feeding business.
Over the course of five decades, Hi-Pro Feeds™ made its name as an innovator of animal nutrition. As a result, we became an early adopter of feed manufacturing science. In the 1960s, we started providing nutritional services to make the most of feed additives. In the 1970s, we developed the first computer livestock feed formulation program. After the 70’s, we oversaw the use of Near Infrared rapid and on-site proximate analysis. Ten years later in the 1990s, we developed advanced amino-acid-digestibility based on animal nutrition formulation. Before we knew it, Hi-Pro Feeds™ was one of the first livestock feed companies in North America to develop internationally-recognized quality control programs and certifications.
In summary, Hi-Pro Feeds™ continues its legacy of innovation across the Southwest. We’ve seen plenty of change over the past 50 years, but one thing remains certain is Hi-Pro Feeds™’ commitment to nutrition.
