Production Manager Gives Back to Local Ronald McDonald House

A couple years ago tragedy struck the Santellana family when they lost a grandson. After experiencing sincere benevolence from the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) in Houston, TX, Joe Santellana, Production Manager in Friona, TX and his wife Diana have become regular volunteers at the RMHC in Amarillo, TX.

Currently the couple travels to Amarillo (hour drive each way) at least once a month to volunteer at the RMHC. They typically help out in the quiet room located in the hospital. This is where families of sick children can find some solace during a stressful time, make a snack and/or take a hot shower.

“There are a lot of people who don’t know these services are available,” said Santellana. “I see there is a need, people are already devastated by what is going on, it’s a hard time in their life, and I’m just glad I can help these people.”

The experience Joe and Diana have had volunteering for Ronald McDonald House thus far has been rewarding and they plan to increase their volunteer capacity once they both retire.
