We have an opening at our facility in Friona, Texas for an experienced Quality Coordinator.  This position will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring Hi-Pro’s Quality Control Program for all Hi-Pro Feeds USA locations, which assures that the products and production processes of the company meet or exceed quality expectations of customers and Nutreco and are compliant with legislation and/or product specifications. 

This role manages the quality and food safety aspects of the business working closely with Operations, Sales, Nutrition, and Purchasing.  Regular communication with Operations (Production, Warehouse, and Maintenance), HSE, Customer Service, Sales, Procurement, Finance, Formulation, Laboratory, and all employees is essential to ensure the company’s quality objectives are achieved.  Must be able to successfully execute projects with and without support from other departments. This position reports to US HSEQ Manager (Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Manager) at Hi-Pro Feeds USA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all quality assurance and quality control related functions under guidance of the US HSEQ Manager.
  • Review and qualify new raw material sources and vendors for current raw materials
  • Conduct internal food safety audits and inspections
  • Manage quality control NIR laboratories and testing schedule
  • Conduct supplier food safety audits as required
  • Lead investigations of quality system failures

Requirements

  • College diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Food Science, Ag Science and/or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of livestock nutrition, food safety, or feed milling
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral
  • Organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel to all Hi-Pro Feeds sites
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and learn new things quickly
  • Computer literate in e-mail programs, word processing and excel applications including charts and graphs
  • Strong math skills including an understanding of the metric system

Preferred

  • FSPCA Preventive Controls For Animal Food Certification
  • HACCP For Food Processors Certification

This position is located in Friona, Texas.
